2018 Wrangler JLU sport. I recently installed a Master Top Complete Soft Top. The back doors do not seal up at all. Anyone install one of these tops and have the same problem? How did you solve it?

I just put a master top complete twill soft top on my 2024 JLUR. the back fit fine; however, the door surrounds leave gaps as does the front. Quadratec sent me 2 new latches and that helped the front gap. If you can't fit the back, then I would loosen the front (release the latches) then try to close the back. That should give you some slack to work with. If the back closes, then close the latches again. My tailgate would not close initially. I just moved the cloth out of the way. There is a video on Quadratec site that may help you.

I'll put the top down and try and adjust all the door surrounds. Hopefully that will solve the problem.

When I contacted Quadratec about the gaps at the rear door surrounds, they said to remove the top and adjust the bows. Well, that was just bs. I had a 1/4 to 3/8 inch gap at the rear of both rear door surrounds. You could fit a pencil in the gap. The front also had a gap. I put adhesive rubber insulation on the door surrounds. That fixed the gap about 95%.. I can still hear wind noise coming from the top of the windshield while driving. I'm going to put some blue painters tape on the gap and see if what I hear is wind or just new tires. If it's wind because of the gap, I'll add some rubber insulation along to top of the windshield too.
The new latches were needed because the original latches popped open while driving. Not a good thing when driving.
Overall, the master top is just ok, but for the price it should be much better. My oem soft top on my JK was much better.

I was able to take the top down and adjust all the door surrounds. It seems all gaps are gone. I haven't driven in the rain, but it seems sealed up.

I've been running the Mastertop soft top for a couple of years now and still going strong. No issues with leaks during rain storms etc. I switch between the soft top and my hardtop depending on the season.

Not impressed with the master top soft top twill. Small leak in the front between the latches. I need to put some weatherproof strips there to match the gaps in the door surrounds. Trying to adjust the latches so they are "just right" takes a while to test in weather. The OEM soft top on my JK was great - no leaks, no gaps. This master top is the opposite.

Have you requested support from Mastertop? Something is not right. Sounds like an installation issue. Mastertop was very helpful and responsive when I asked for support.

I contacted quadratec where i bought the top. They basically said to reseat the top and the door surround would be ok. Not true. The door surround has a guide pin. It can only be placed in one spot. There is no option to move it in any direction. The front latches popped open while driving. They sent me 2 new latches. These have not popped open. I can still hear wind noise and see a bit of daylight out of the soft top windshield seam. I'll try to adjust the latches again.

Wow! That's terrible. However, it is the complete opposite of my experience working with Mastertop directly. I highly recommend working directly with manufacturer to resolve your issues. Nothing against Quadratec, buy they are only the authorization seller. They cannot be experts in everything they sell.

When I had a warranty issue with my softop, I spoke directly to someone at Mastertop and got it resolved quickly. This is my 3rd year with the softop and very satisfied. I also take it on/off throughout the year depending on the season. So it gets more abuse than just leaving it installed. It's still water tight and quiet on the road.
