i was on 4wp about to buy a smittybilt extended shade top when i found that theyre having a sale on smittybilt items for 20% off. i already had some seat covers loitering in my cart for a while.

im looking at nylon vs neoprene seat covers. the nylon are double the price. anyone have experience with either on any jeep? just wondering on the difference. if the nylon is really a lot better or what. also fitment wise.

the nylon G.E.A.R. series. $159 just for the rears (or front)

gen 1? neoprene covers. $150 for front and rear

gen 2 neoprene seat covers $150 for front and rear

after lots of googling it seems some complain that the neoprene seats get too hot. that definitely would not work for me here in so cal lol.

no reviews on the new GEAR 2 seat covers yet. either i take the bait (while on sale) or wait till someone else finally does and reviews them... hard to pass up with about $80 off.

I've been eyeing the GEN2 covers since I bought my JLU. With this sale, I finally pulled the trigger and ordered a set in black a few moments ago. The GEN2 are supposed to be more refined and have a better fit/finish. I also like the red stitching, which will add a hint of color to my all black Sport Altitude.

Just installed these. They are right, I have the 40 back a little crooked. I am not thrilled with the pockets on the back of the covers. However they are removable. Overall I give them 4.5 stars!

I've had the G.E.A.R full covers in my JK for 2 years. They have held up quite well. Will probably pick up the JL version for the new jeep

Just installed these.
They look good. Waiting for mine to ship. How difficult was it to connect the straps/hooks on the bottom of the front seats? At first glance there doesn't appear to be much room under the seats?

Plenty of room., just be selective on what you coooncet the hooks to as some points slipped out and sent metal hooks flying!

Got mine installed today. They arrived much faster than expected. A bit of a pain to install, but not too bad.

Do you find that the front seat back covers don't sit 100% tight/flush to the seat? Everything is pulled as far down as it can go and the front bottom flap is tucked and pulled as far under the seat as possible. My fronts still look like they are a bit ballooned away from the actual seat.

Congrats on the new seat covers. Everything on mine is super tight accept for the passenger seat top piece. It’s is a little ballooned. I Think the cold outside is not letting it settle the way it should. I’ll give it a few weeks then try to readjust.

Completely not true. For the price, the GEN2 covers I installed are functional, look great and are an exceptional value compared to other high priced covers. I don't install s-it products in any of my vehicles.

My mom was fiddling with it and didn't try to force tuck it in as I thought it was supposed to. If you play with just keeping it out and kinda attaching the velcro to a different piece of the bottom part it seemed to work easier.

I've learned to live with it. It's not as noticeable to me now. I actually reached out to SmittyBilt and had a useless email exchange with one of their customer service reps. He insisted that I didn't have the straps properly connect, etc. It was a lost cause. I jumped on these because of the sale and I thought they'd look good, which they do to an extent. However, I think that eventually I'm going to eat the cost of these and purchase a set of Bartacts or PRPs.

did you have to remove the factory seat covers to put these on? i thought they slip over your stock seats as is. id hate to see the tan foam peeking out.
