Question for anyone who has installed these flares:
I picked these up for a great price on Amazon - such a great price I pulled the trigger on them before reviewing the installation instructions (which I never do, I always like knowing what I'm getting into LOL). Anyway has anyone installed these (successfully) and not cut off the OEM brackets it calls out to be removed in step 7. It sure appears in step 11 the flare is test fitted to the Jeep body with the mounts still in place - but I contacted Smittybilt and they said they needed to be removed for correct fitment. Has anyone tried modifying the flare instead of removing those?
I'm not really interested in cutting those off in case I decide to go with a different flare in the future that needs them.
Thanks in advance!

Looks pretty cut and dry (no pun intended). If that's the look you're after then you're cutting them off. And no, I do not own those.
