Hello all, question. I have had the Smart Stop Start installed now for about a year, has worked great, up until about a month ago. I am noticing, once a week or so, it is not "remembering" the ess button push, and I have to push the button again to "re-tell it to remember", which the unit "remembers" for another week or so, then forgets again. Anyone else ever have this happen? Thanks.

I've the competitor's product in my JLU. It's functioned flawlessly for >3.5 years now. You might consider sending an email to the seller from whom you purchased the SSS harness, mentioning your malfunction and asking about warranty coverage.

@SonofaSeabee

Since the SmartStopStart was made available and @SmartStopStart.com became a forum sponsor, I do not remember reading about any issues with the offering .... especially, the issue you are having. Yes, with the knockoffs I have heard of this particular issue.

The SmartStopStart unit has a 3 yr. warranty, so message Steve at @SmartStopStart.com and let him know you have an issue. He will undoubtedly quickly get a replacement unit out to you..

Steve just contacted me, WOW, resolved, in minutes!
Without question, I knew Steve would be on this forthwith...

Yes, the owner of @SmartStopStart.com / Steve, offers terrific Customer Service..... is a fellow JL owner and is a valued, long time (Since 2018) Forum Sponsor... And a real nice guy to boot.

Multiple, very valid reasons to go with the SmartstopStart offfering versus an iffy knockoff.

@SonofaSeabee ...Had you had this issue with a knock off of the SmartStop Start offering you would probably be trying.... with key word on trying, to get a replacement under warranty... -->Hey.... Enjoy that SSS unit..

Atta boy, Steve @SmartStopStart.com

If it turns out that the SSS module is not the problem, could your system voltage (battery voltage) be dropping while the vehicle is parked over night. This may cause the module to reset.

I do not have an issue with my SSS, but I do with my auxillary switches. Sometimes one of the switches does not turn back on after an over night set/restart. I suspect it may be a system voltage issue.

The SSS module actually stores the last state in non-volatile flash memory, so it should be retained even with a power reset.
