Experimenting with ant mounts on my LOD tire carrier. It is a lip mount, and being used in this way, I feel it will eventually work it's way off the tire carrier. Maybe drill it, and the LOD and hard mount the base?

Power tank JLUR bracket mount for my economy CO2 tank. I like the power tank brackets. Spendy, but clean looking and solid mount. I like the bottle boot they sell too. Very nice! Keeps the bottle from rolling if tipped over, and prevents moving in the bracket. The bracket itself with a single strap is very quick to get bottle in/out, but secure otherwise.

It also worked with my Dominion Offroad Hi-Lift jack/shovel/axe mount. I've pulled the lift itself and have installed it on my LOD using their brackets. I do love a well made bracket.

I purchased LOD brackets to mount the Hi lift horizontal, and a boot to cover the mechanism. I've never stored a hi-lift outside, and they last a long time, if you don't. This hi-lift is from 2005, and is still on it's original pins and mechanism. Not a bit of rust on it. I'll be lucky if I can keep it decent back here, but I find it takes too much time, effort to remove from my inside mount. This is two nuts, remove the protective boot, and install the HJ foot with it's cotter pin.

Did the RPM tie rod and drag link take out any of the wander? I’ve got it in the cart but I’m torn between synergy and rpm. Or even doing it at all if it doesn’t help. Thanks

It's been 99F deg at night here in Phoenix and over 110F in my driveway every day. On top of that I've been on a few trips and haven't had time to work on it. RPM steering sits in the corner. I have Steer Smart on the jeep now, and it did better after the SS install. Too many failures are happening with the SS's to leave it on there.

With that said, the wandering on ANY solid front axle can be a few things.
-The Jeep JL steering box is a POS. If you would like to check it out, simply try this. Have one sit in the jeep and slowly move the steering wheel back and forth through that 5-9" of dead space at center. You be under the jeep, and see if the pitman arm actually moves. It probably has a very large dead spot. This is the wandering issue for the majority of these.
-If your drag link and tie rod are fine, then replacing them won't fix anything. The stock steering is much more flimsy than you think, but unless the joints themselves are moving, you are barking up the wrong tree.
-Jeep really cheaped out on the ball joints. If you've wheeled hard, the internal plastic bushings are probably wore out.
-Toe in/toe out setting on axle can play a HUGE part in how your SFA vehicle feels on the road. Different tires, and sizes can affect the steering input. Try 0" toe in and see how that feels as a starting point.
-I'm missing a few other large things such as pinion angle, but all I have time for.

Next Venture Motorsport front cover and skid.
The attachment is solid. Much, much better than the flimsy metalcloak skid/cover. The hoop over the rear of the diff is very strong, unlike the Rancho U-bolt solution. The thickness is top notch... very much thicker than the Rancho. Only downside I see, is that in providing ultimate covering of that ridiculous drain hole, there is no way to access the drain hole without removing the skid. It's an all or nothing solution. I like it. I had the cover powdercoated silver vien, which took a few extra WEEKS.

I repurposed the floor mounted Power Tank bracket as a hard mount for my smittybilt compressor. It is a nice location for any compressor. Also treated myself to that Power Tank bag that snugs underneath and holds my air line.

Alright.
Got the Goose Gear plate system in. Got the Dometic fridge slide in, and after 2 years of sliding around, the Dometic 40 has a secure home now. Got the goose gear used for a great deal.

Rugged Ridge rear fenders. For someone on a budget, these work very nice. Not as stout as Metalcloak, but not bad! Much better than those Amazon specials.

The RPM Steering is working out really nice. I'm very happy with it. Much, much, much better than the Steer Smarts hardware.

This warm winter in Phoenix has worked out great with the sunrider.

Well... with the top flipped back, the sun is hot??? With it closed, it's just like any other vehicle. I don't really know it's there when it's closed. Sort of if you open your front door at home, things change?

Thanks for reply. I like the idea but my only experience is with full soft tops. On a hot summer day they were hot to the touch, very hot. When off the sun really beat down on you. I guess if the sun wasn't 12 o'clock high, you would have some relief. Black looks good on your rig. I like the tan seats and is something I still want to do. Tan sunrider would be my choice.

how has the LOD bumper/carrier and bolt on toys held up ?
Quite well. Plan to add my shovel and axe to it next, as well as a small propane tank for overland trips.
