Are the indicators on the mirrors suppose to illuminate when defrost is activated?

I don't have the BSM option, but I see an indicator that looks like defrost icon so I thought that would illuminate like the BSM light. I'll try to post an image when I get a chance.

The little defroster icon on the side rear view mirrors do not light up when the mirrors are defrosting.

Thats just there to let you know the mirrors HAVE a defroster and that is all.
