How do you like these so far? Can the settings be changed where the step doesn’t come down automatically when a door is opened?
have you used just the main “running board” as your step?
Love them! There's a switch you can use to turn them off so if they are up, they don't come down, or if they are down, they won't go up. I used the latter (let them come down with door open, turned switch off and closed the door) so I could safely install the lights inside them. I could see someone coming in and closing the door while my hand was in there! Ouch!
Anyway, I like them so much one of the first things I am doing when back to Iowa from Florida is to put them on my Gladiator. They are there, sitting in my garage, ready to install.
Seems we left Iowa for FL just in time if you checked our weather lately LOL

Good to know… I’m in FL so no major rock climbing, just trails and beach. I wonder how these do with water submersion, bc we do like to cross water
Can't say but hope they are ok as we get a lot of slush, pooled rain (like when we get 4"/hour or more) and snow splashing up to them. The wiring connectors are sealed modern connectors. I used silicone dielectric on every connection. They do have instructions for lube, etc in the install manual or online. The electronic control board is in a seemingly sealed housing with a sealed connector going to it. The motor looks like a modern power window motor. The insides are mostly stainless steel and aluminum (I assume anodized). The steel outer shell is powercoated heavy steel.

You could probably find a fab shop local to you.
