I had the same thing done at the dealership where I bought my jeep. It cost around $136 and took less then 15 minutes.
Yes, it only takes 15 min or so. I said 45 min. as by the time the Tech gets it in back, hooks it up to the WiTech, runs his mouth to the Tech in the next bay and then he sips his coffee, he kills 45 min.+-.

If you just can't resist giving the stealership your $ then show them this when you go to for the re-calibration:
Takes about 45min.- for the Tech to do with their WiTech tool.

Thank you so much for this post. I will certainly bring this to the dealership, though 35's are hardly "oversized" tires.

This is why I was blown away when one dealership straight up told me they block out 4 hours for this. The other dealership that said they didn't have enough techs and that it would take 6 hours was just being rude. I am going to have a chat with my salesperson about that...

$201.48 Tazer JL Lite
$302.68 Tazer JL Mini

For these prices go to to and buy @Northridge4x4 .... use coupon code: jlwranglerforums

Remember, some day you will be able to sell your Tazer and be able to re-coop more then half of what you paid for it.
Yeah... Between the forum coupon and the $75 gift card I have at Northridge4x4, the Tazer Mini is looking like a much better buy.

Is there anyone who would want to work six days a week, every week? This is why dealerships have a small number of technicians on Saturdays; The tech's are on a rotating Saturday schedule so they don't have a six day work week all the time. If a small dealer has only six technicians, probably won't be more than two there on any given Saturday.

First, this is not a small dealer. Second, I didn't ask for a new clutch disc, a lift install, or an engine swap. I asked for what is likely the most simple procedure they offer. They should have worked with me, or at least be nice about it.

My dealer said it would take several hours for mine. I asked why that was. I was told that when they plug it into the system, it talks with corporate and sends data back and forth and then FCA finally send the OK to change odometer.

I checked my dash cam. The Jeep sat for three hours on the lot, then was moved into the bay. From what I can tell, it took them 30 minutes from the time it went into the bay and was put back on the lot. I had to laugh. It only cost me $125.

you went to a dealer, on a Saturday, with no appointment, asking them to do something they may or may not do often, or whatever techs are working may or may not do often. most dealerships only book standard maintenance on Saturdays as to not get tied up all day and keep many cars over to Monday, and Saturdays are very popular, most requested day of the week. i think you are asking a lot to show up and assume they could fit you in at all.

additionally, while it probably only takes 45 min start to finish, there can be connectivity issues that take hours. i had a headlight issue that took 2 hours to re-program because of slow connections, and other non dealership issues, that should have taken 5 min. i know bmw dealers always way over estimate time required to re-program as to never get burned. also, something to consider, they are tying up a bay and time to make some $ doing your job, but what about the lost potential on other money making services and repairs on other cars.

So I just called in and spoke to the service manager. He apologized and said I should have been taken care of on Saturday. He will fit me in this afternoon.

If a service center place is operating on an "appointment only" basis, they should communicate that. Otherwise I absolutely expect to be helped when asking for a simple procedure. Had I driven in and asked for an oil change (which would take longer, but is also simple) that is completely within the realm of reasonable expectation that they should have been able to do it. The idea that every procedure be expected to take many extra hours is absurd. I don't leave my house 4 hours early for a 30-minute drive to work because there might be a wreck on the interstate. As I said I did not expect this to be expedited and I planned on waiting an hour or two, and had it taken a little longer I would have understood. What I did not expect was to be told to go away and come back in a week because they're too busy.
