Indeed, the SGW Extension Cable is a blessing of sorts .... to those of us that have a Tazer JL, a SmartStopStart unit, use JSCAN and other such goodies that attach at the JL/JT security gateway.
The Trivia:
The SGW Extension Cable is fabricated in China.... thus the "Made In China" label on the bag that the/your SGW Extension Cable was packaged in.
Joe Z. (ZAutomotive) was unable to source this particular extension cable from a USA supplier.
Lots of JL owner's were hounding Joe to come up with an SGW Extension Cable... no extension cable was forthcoming... Joe was having trouble sourcing the offering,
Anyway @SwissSteph a forum member from Switzerland got a Chinese company to make the cable.. He / Swisssteph was on a mission so to speak and did all the leg work.... he contacted a company in China and got them what they needed know, to fabricate the cable... and to send it to Swisssteph in Switzerland.
Then, SwissSteph came to the forum and told his tale... that he acquired a SGW Extension Cable.
Right away, I told Joe about SwissSteph and him getting the company in China to make the cable and Joe, immediately contacted that Chinese company (with info provided by SwissSteph) and placed a big order for them .....Joe began ordering the cable in quantity, from that Chinese company..
Joe was smart thinking as usual and told the Chinese fabricator of the cable to wrap it it black cloth like the Jeep factory used versus the plastic wrapping that the Chinese had used.. this way if anyone looked at the installed SGW Extension Cable they would think it was a factory installed cable.
SO.... that is the story about the terrific SGW Extension Cable, we all LOVE.
