I just got back from a long weekend in Telluride and was running trails with the doors off and once I put the doors back on I noticed that the driver's side seatbelt is makes a creaking noise. It's not when the seatbelt is actually extended but more so when the seatbelt changes angle. I'm assuming this is from all of the dust/dirt that got kicked up on the trail so I was wondering if there was a way to remove the cap covering the seatbelt or someway to actually clean the seatbelt?

Make sure it is actually the seat belt. There is a creak developing in the JL with the doors. Annoying as can be and sounds like it is coming from the seat belt / soft top frame area. After hours of tracking it down and researching someone else's post on JL Forum, the inner door sub frame is coming glued apart from the aluminum skin and with the force of the door striker / retractor thing is flexing like crazy. Door replacement is the only fix as of right now.

I also have that noise but this is directly coming from the seatbelt itself, specifically the part you can adjust up and down. When I'm driving and I lean over I can hear it directly. I was wondering if there was a way to pop that black cover off the seatbelt or just use some air cleaner/windex maybe?

Hi rizej,
If you are unable to rectify this yourself and decide to visit your dealer, please feel free to send our team a private message and we'd be happy to add additional assistance throughout that process!

Get the answer what we should do if car wont go into gear by reviewing at Autoguysland site if you concern. When I'm driving and I lean over I can hear it directly. Have you solved this issue yet? If not, you can try buying seat belt covers that wrap around the trap.

I have the same noise coming from the seat belt height adjuster area. Please keep us posted on your progress.

Wondering if anyone ever figured this out? I have the same noise and it's definitely coming from the seatbelt adjustment assembly.
