How are you planning on doing the seafoam? run it through a vacuum hose until it stalls? I think with the new engines and sensors galore that's a recipe for disaster. In the days of carbs and no cats, it was ok.
Running tier 1 gas with a good additive package should be good enough. Or just put a bottle of Techron in the gas tank once a year.

I use seafoam occasionally in my carbureted engines, but I wouldn't use it in a fuel injection engine.

I add a can to my 2s FI sled at the start of every year. Haven't missed a year on the same sled for the last 7 or 8. Runs perfect. No leaks.

I've never had any issues stemming from using seafoam. Also, I've never even heard of any issues caused directly from using it. Undoubtedly, there are those that are capable of creating an issue from misuse of it. But I don't think that's not what we're discussing here.

Don't trust it? Then don't use. I trust it and I've been using it twice a year in my gas tank for almost 5 years now. Had zero issues. No leaks so far.

I treat my gas tank when seasons changes to Fall and then to Spring.

He's talking about the Seafoam you put through your intake.

Oh, I guess I didn't pick up on that from his post. Still should be OK to do that.
I've used it both ways and never had a problem. In fact when I used to run it in my intake on others cars and blow massive billows of white smoke for minutes I would find the car ran smoother.

I've done the same. Cleans the buildup out, but does smoke a lot.

Seafoam is basically solvent and steam vapor that cleans the intake. I wouldn't use it in a modern engine for fear it could do costly damage to emissions components (sensors, cats). If you had a carbon buildup issue this early on, I'd suspect an issue that Seafoam use isn't likely to solve. Just my $0.02

Breaking up carbon deposits and then letting them through the cylinder and down the exhaust will lead to clooging catalytic converters. Will it do it every time? No. But if you have to do that kind of treatment regularly it will build up. Instead of doing the mosquito smoke show, diagnose your problem and address it. But the 3.6 doesn't use direct injection so carbon buildup isn't really a concern on these.
Saying you use it and never have problems doesn't mean Sea Foam is making your vehicle run better. I've used it before on my Trans And I used to have. Doing the intake cleaning never helped with anything but making a huge cloud of smoke.
I did put it in the gas tank to act as a cleaner in the fuel system, and would put in in the oil a day before I was going to change it to give it time to circulate and work it's magic.
But I've also run cars without it and they never had issues either.

I have been using Seafoam for years. You can use the Seafoam spray directly into the throttle body on the 2.0 but not in the gas tank because of the direct injection.

It is safe in to add the liquid to the fuel tank for the 3.6 since it is not direct injected. You can also use it as an oil additive before oil changes. It really keeps things clean in my 18 JLUR. I bought my JLUR used with just under 50k on it and went ahead and performed a treatment. After that I noticed I now get about 1-2 mpg better, the engine runs smoother.

It will not damage cat's as some have eluded to. I ran it about every 10th tank in my 06 H2 Hummer that had over 200K when I sold it and never had any problems.

I also still use it today in my 08 H2. Just follow the instructions on the can and you will be pleased with the results.

yea i thought i had read not to use fuel additives in the owners manual . but they also said not to replace your transmission fluid and i did ,as well as the pan and it runs so much better i believe it was low from the factory .

I was using hotshots in the wife's Subaru Forester sport oil, and in the EcoDiesel's oil, but recently I've decided to switch over to Marvel Mystery Oil in both vehicles.

The only time I use seafoam in my wife's oil is when I'm using it to clean out the oil system. I believe the recommendations is put it in and then change your oil like 300 miles later. From what I can tell with the wife Subaru, it works pretty well. I did it just the other day and it came out extra black and gooey. I guess we'll see at 65,000 mi just how much cleaner the oil is. Not sure if I'm going to use it when I do the eco diesels oil change at 40,000 mi. Going to have to look into that a little bit, But realistically speaking I don't see any reason it would cause any issues. ?‍♂
