OTOH, I've literally never seen a truly dirty engine that's had regular maintenance and oil changes so I can't personally understand the reasons for people wanting to use heavy cleaners in their intake and engine oil and assume most of it is some kind of superstition or old habit.

Now, I'm not saying Seafoam (Or Seafood, as my computer has tried to autocorrect like 10 times) doesn't work. I've just never seen the need in anything except for a really old engine that hasn't been cared for.

I think its all snake oil. think that 12oz bottle diluted in 18 gallons of gas does anything? Catch cans are nice, but I think overkill for the little bit of oil that should be going thru the PVC. If you have lots of oil in your catch can, you have bigger problems. Regular oil changes (using quality oil and filter) do more than any additive. Before anyone comes after me, let me just say I was an Aircraft mechanic (recep gas powered) at one point of my life. You would never see anyone adding stuff to the gas on those. As well, I have an 1986 Olds Cutlass that I bought new. Rebuilt the engine at 215k miles because I thought it needed to be done. during tear down there was some wear but it was pretty clean and I contribute that to just regular oil changes.

Many will say Seafoam is a waste of time, snake oil, etc. But the true fact is even if you are religious on changing oil this will not remove carbon buildups on Pistons, Valves, Plugs, the EGR system etc.

I don't care if you use the finest oil available, over time a small amount of varnish and or sludge can occur. Using Seafoam every so often helps to remove these deposits. If you have not tried it do so, make a note of your mileage before and after. Most people will notice a difference in both fuel economy plus smoothness of the engine. You have nothing to loose except maybe $8 bucks or so.

I only use Sea-foam as a fuel stabilizer, instead of the high priced Sta-bil.

I have been using Seafoam for years. You can use the Seafoam spray directly into the throttle body on the 2.0 but not in the gas tank because of the direct injection.

It is safe in to add the liquid to the fuel tank for the 3.6 since it is not direct injected. You can also use it as an oil additive before oil changes. It really keeps things clean in my 18 JLUR. I bought my JLUR used with just under 50k on it and went ahead and performed a treatment. After that I noticed I now get about 1-2 mpg better, the engine runs smoother.

It will not damage cat's as some have eluded to. I ran it about every 10th tank in my 06 H2 Hummer that had over 200K when I sold it and never had any problems.

I also still use it today in my 08 H2. Just follow the instructions on the can and you will be pleased with the results.
I put a can in the gas tank of my 2020 JL about every oil change 5,000 miles no issues so far.

I get my fuel for my ZR1 Corvette from the air port 100 octane when you running that octane fuel you don’t need additives

yea i thought i had read not to use fuel additives in the owners manual . but they also said not to replace your transmission fluid and i did ,as well as the pan and it runs so much better i believe it was low from the factory .
The manual says not to use additives in the oil. For fuel it recommends using a Top Tier rated tier 1 fuel with additives (e.g. Techron, Synergy+, etc.) or using a good additive package to "regular" fuel from a Top Tier rated gas station.
