Ok reporting back in. The paint arrived last night. It's a tiny 5 oz can for $30.

Here's the before all taped up:

And after:

I'm really happy with the results. Now it just kind of blends in to the rest of the pin stripes I already had. After it dries for 24 hours I'll see if I want to throw just 1 more coat in there just because.

I think this is the best result I could have gotten without taking it to a body shop and having them fill in the gouges and repaint the whole thing.

Hmm good question. I'm not actually sure about that. I would think it would be in the paint since color matched hard tops have no texture to them.

Here is a close up after drying overnight and you can't even tell I painted over the whole area so it must have the texture in the touch up paint.
