I can see that. To be fair, most vendors don't disclose who makes their springs at all. Not defending Rustys here, I can see your point, just saying.
I don't have Facebook, stopped that years ago, but you have me curious. I'll try to check it out.
That’s true. I talked to a lot of manufacturers and many of them will tell you over the phone. Rusty’s uses mostly Duer, Metal Cloak uses Betts, that’s all I remember off the top of my head though. I have my notes somewhere.

Mmmmm, driveshafts.... Its pretty sad how excited I get when auto parts are delivered. I planned on installing this today, but its 94 degrees out. If it cools down, I think I'll sweat it out.

I became curious about this Duer company and found this cool video on their website. I wish there was a longer video that explained more about the production process. It would be cool to see a How It's Made about springs. Sorry if this is boring.

How much lift did you get out of the front, I am a little disappointed in the Rusty's 3 inch kit. I got 4 from the front and 2.5 in the back, yeah my Jeep is level now but the 4 inches I gained in the front isn't helping me, I bought all 8 RK control arms so that will help but now im going to have to add spacers in the rear to give me the lift I was looking for. I should have gone with the RK 3.5 springs.

I asked Rusty about it but he was a little evasive about it, not happy because the rancho 2 inch springs gave me more lift in the rear.

You can see how much taller the rear rancho springs are.

I never measured it, just installed it and it came out as you see it. I can try to measure if that will help. Which kit did you buy? I have never spoke to Rusty, I only spoke to a guy there named Austin. He was exceedingly helpful. I can't say he'll be able to sort the rear spring issue, but I'd call and ask for him.

The 3.75 rears were a pain to get in. I have up trying to use my spring compressor, disconnected the parking brake cable and just dropped the entire rear end to the ground. They still needed some persuading to get in. You can see the pics at the beginning of this thread how much bigger the rears were than stock. I agree with you, the 3 inch like mighty small.

I just boughthe 3 inch springs, I liked the Rock Krawler arms so I bought those and the rancho adjustable shocks to complete my Frankenstein lift and dang that's quite a bit of effort. I had to use compressors for the front springs but the rear I muscled in using a pry bar, I almost didn't install them but went ahead with it thinking I'd add a leveling spacer to the rear but at the same time it defeats the purpose of buying new coils when o could have done the same with the rancho springs.

What are you doing for rear bump stops? Also on the rear LCA, the joint doesn’t look straight. Can you rotate the head 180° to get it to line up right? Don’t know what your thrust angle is but it appears to be in a bind in the pic. Sometimes they can get a hair off it just looks like a little more than a little if that makes sense.

No rear bump stops currently. I'm pretty sure the thrust angle is ok, I don't think I'm crabbing down the road. I took a pic of the lower rear control arm on passenger, see below. I have no experience with Johnny joints, I thought this was how they just ended up, depending on alignment. Rustys gives you a starting measurement of each arm, and I installed with those dimensions to the letter. The instructions did say that the distances could change, but that would happen during alignment. Since the alignment went smoothly and the Jeep drives perfectly, I didn't think there was an issue. If you're saying there is an issue, please explain. I'm am very leary about lengthing control arms and destroying my alignment unless there is some significant issue, in which case I'd prefer to bring it back to the alignment shop.

I think that should be straight, maybe you don’t have your jamb nut tight enough. With the rk arms, they have you torque to 250 ft lbs.
None of them are perfectly straight, but this one is more off than the others. I also realized that the bend is supposed to be angled towards the vehicle, and the bend is clearly not. I'll try loosening up the jam nut and rotating it tomorrow, perhaps that will straighten it.

I'll crank on the jam nuts as best can

If you’re gonna take them off to switch them then it might be easier to torque the jamb nut with it in a vise. My front lowers I torqued on the rig because I was dialing in my castor, so I had my buddy hold the joint with a big ass pry bar while I used a big ass torque wrench to tighten them, lol, 250ft lbs is a lot but they haven’t budged at all.
Not to switch them, as they're both the same on either side. The left seems ok, is angled in. I'm go try rotate it so the angle is on the inside.
I'm going to admit that I don't have the jam nuts close to 250. I put some blue locktite on, cranked on it as hard as I could. I don't see how 250 is realistically possible for me

Once I get something in my head, it rattles around in there like a poison. So I had to look at this tonight. Took off rear wheel, so I could loosen that jam nut. Once I even slightly touched it, easily rotated back and forth. Its not binding, see picture below. I think I'll leave it alone.

I have no ego regarding this stuff, please continue to offer suggestions, advice or things I've done wrong. I have a lot of experience with race cars, but zero with 4x4. Eagerly trying to learn thru doing and posting on this forum.

Looked good straightened up. Didn’t know what joints rusty used. I would however flip it around so the bend allows more clearance. When you air down you’ll want as much room as possible. Rusty didn’t send anything for the bump stops? Get something there before flexing it out or else your tires will end up in the fenders.

Another thing we do when installing a lift that size is bend those rear brake brackets to the right (passenger side for example) up about 35° degrees or so. Will give it a lot more room when flexing. Also take out the parking brake cable bracket and reroute the cables so they don’t get in a bind.

Looks good

HeyBrett,
A while back you said you’re putting rk lift on your wife’s rig, if you did, how did it turn out? Did it give the right amount of lift, hows the ride, etc...mainly want to know about the springs, I have their control arms and track bars, I love how those components are working for me. I’m looking at getting their 3.5 “ springs, so just looking for a little feedback.
Thanks
Roky
I’ll send you a pm

Awesome, thanks man. Any suggestions on how to do the parking brake re-route? I did a quick Google search, but only found some relocations brackes for JKs

Kinda hard to explain but you’ll see what I’m talking about. Remove the bracket and discard (13mm) unclip hook from the rear of the hub. I run them on the front of the support that they go over. It’ll drop down between the cross member and the fuel filler line. They will rest on the rear axle but the amount of room you can gain will ensure it’ll never get in a bind
