I'm going to be purchasing a 2021 JLU in a few weeks and one of the top things on my mind is rust. On my YJ, there are areas where rust is more common to develop than others, specifically in the rear of the frame and transmission skid plate areas. I've been reading a lot about the JLU and it sounds like they use an aluminum alloy for parts of the tub. The frame has many more holes than my YJ frame did, so water won't pool like it did before.
Do the JLU's have particular areas where closer attention needs to be paid to for watching out for rust? It seems like areas I should focus on are welds (but this may had been fixed in later JLU's), and around hinges.
Thanks!
