Someone much smarter than me correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you can break the teeth on the rear differential. Also, if you use a strap and it snaps, you may have a projectile coming your way.

This is the reason. The diff gears are not that strong on the coast side.

@jdpatt12 … That really was a good-looking picture with your white Jeep & the mail truck in the snow. We weren't poo-pooing your accomplishment... it was absolutely admirable and I don't think anyone would disagree.
