I hope that photo is not representative of the actual part because if it is, that is not it (unfortunately).
I did an image search, and unfortunately that same picture shows up as axle sensor kit, camshaft position sensor, and a whole bunch of other Jeep/Dodge/Ram products. I think the picture is wrong. I hope the part is right :)

It makes me nervous that it's the right part when a bunch of non-rubicon models are listed in the fitment section. Seems more likely it is the FAD or wheel speed sensors being it seems to fit all models?

Diff oil slowly works its way inside the sensor over time and since diff oil has metallic flakes in it from the bearings/gears it will cause the circuit board in the locker sensor to short out. Once that happens the only fix is a new axle. You cannot buy the sensor separately.
just read another post potting the sensor.......hope jeep make that sensor orderable.

It’s about time they do. It’s been an issue since 18. I just potted mine and it was high on the pucker factor scale when drilling those holes…thankfully mine are working 100% and I shouldn’t ever have an issue. If you start getting a service locker message there’s probably oil in the sensor and it’s too late to pot it at that point…

I still can’t believe the aftermarket hasn’t stepped up yet. Any electronics company should be able to build this stupid sensor.

I believe Z Automotive has a bypass. I thought about ordering one to keep in the spare part bin tucked away in the back.
The bypass just tricks the computer into thinking the sensor works, for the same money you can just order the locker wiring harness and truly bypass the jeep having any say when you use your lockers. Front sensor gave up the ghost so I turned it off via the tazer and hardwired it, no warning lights, no problem. That being said, a replacement sensor should be available aftermarket.

I took my 2020 Rubi diesel in for a regular service in April. My dealer had a special on so I decided to have the package deal for both diffs and transfer case oil changed at 38k miles. Front and transfer case were great, but the rear had a boat load of 1/2 inch curled shavings. The dealer decided to replace the entire rear end on warranty. Fast forward, I had an oil change this week at 46k miles. They took the initiative to check the rear diff oil and found it to be quite dark. Spoke to the head shop mechanic and he said that he recommends rear diff oil change every 15k miles given the very tight tolerances that jeep uses for their gearing systems. Does that jive with the experiences that others have had? I plan to do those myself given the frequency.
