So you bought the $99 RC kit, basically threw away their light cubes, bought the Rigid D-SS spots, upgraded the bulbs and bam, you had your solution? Am I tracking you here?
I had wanted the Rigid D-SS spots from the start, but was unimpressed with the mount options available except for the RC's (which I liked a lot). So since RC didn't sell the mounts separately at the time, I bought their whole kit. The RC cubes and included wire harness were just left in the box for future use in a different application. They will most likely become reverse lights, or bumper mounted lights to supplement what's already there.

Trust me, they aren't just being thrown away.

With the modest improvement the Philip's +100 bulbs gave the factory low/ high beams, the long range spots (which wind up enhancing the existing high beams while adding a few hundred feet of throw and 50' of elevation), and the very wide throw of the side shooters, I personally don't see a need to add anything more for my application. My JL isn't a crawler. It's a daily that sees forest access and MVUM trails to get around in northern MI. Just adding a set of D-SS spots was adequate enough to navigate those trails effectively.

The point I was trying to make with the Philips bulbs, is that the JL's factory headlights are leagues better than my JK's. And the new LED offerings are bounds better than the old generation KC Daylighters.

sounds like a great solution...I may follow your lead...I was only confused on the Philips...I thought you change out the bulbs on the D-SS...you upgraded your low/high beam headlights...now I get it...I appreciate your detailed response...enjoy the long weekend!

You are correct. You will not use the fuse and relay from our harness and will just connect the black to the ground and red to the AUX wire. I just sent a memo internally making are all the guys know this.
So cut just the switch out of your harness and use wires that connected to switch?

I did that cut the harness out, ended up with 2 black/ ground connected to chassis and 2 red hot cables and connected directly to switch #3 cable (orange).
