I can't speak to the linked product's pros or cons. I do like that it has 4 attachment points on each side that help spread the torsional forces on the rack as applied to the rain gutter to which it is attached.

That rain gutter isn't a weak connection point per se, but there are certainly stronger points to connect to that may or may not be necessary depending upon what you are carrying above.

I speak of torsional forces, not simply those of gravity because at times it's not simply the weight of the load attached but its shape. An attached kayak, for example, certainly not the heaviest of loads, may, at high enough vehicle speeds have tendency to make itself and that it is attached to airborne, applying upward pressure to the rain gutter attachment points.

Additionally this rack covers the Freedom Panels. Some racks permit their (the Freedom Panel's) removal--which may or may not be important to you, granted offering less storage in their shorter length. Other racks have the option to add or remove a section over the Freedom Panels.

And with this rack you are committed to only running a hard top if you want to also have the rack attached. If taking your hard top off and/or switching it with another top is part of your plan you may prefer a rack whose attachment points lie somewhere near the bumper (but otherwise on the body, not the frame of the vehicle) and cowl.

Body on frame designs like the JL, where the front of the roof racks are attached invariable to the cowl: a body (not frame) component are best attached at rear to the body of the vehicle as well so that as the vehicle conforms to the terrain, torsional forces are not placed on the rack, as can happen if the front is connected to the body, and the rear to the frame.

Then there's price.

So, as I see it, there's two basic areas under which the suitability of this rack you reference lies. One is in its own quality, which I can't speak to, and the other to it's suitability for your needs--even if of the highest quality--in light of some of the issues I just raised, that you may or may not have considered or view as important.

If you can talk more to your purpose for having a roof rack perhaps your linked one or other offerings can be offered for best fit.

Sorry for raising more questions than answers. Sometimes that leads to analysis paralysis, and at other times, if we're lucky, to minimal buyer regret.

Check out DeeZee racks. I have one and I really like it. Since it is compatible with T bolts it's super easy to attach stuff. It comes with a small rack for over the freedom panels and a main rack. I didn't want the small rack so I used all the cross bars on the back. There are a few threads on this rack.

Gbr no I ended up getting the JCR Off-road rack, that company stole their product images and posted it on their website with false specs. Should here tomorrow once installed I’ll post pics.
