Rock Sliders and Side Step

Only other ones I'm aware of are the JCR Offroad ones and the Mopar Rubicon rock rails. I'm waiting for my ACE Rocksliders to ship and plan on doing a write-up once they're in.

Ace Rock Sliders are very well made and preferred by many. Decent looking and install aok with OEM Rock rails. Install takes little time, is easy but helps to have a second set of hands to support slider during bolt-up process. I installed a Ace Rock Sliders on my Son's 2014 JK.

Note: During normal use, the Ace Sliders powder coat gets scuffed up from people's boots, rocks, etc. as do other brand sliders. I found that Rust-Oleum Bed Liner Spray (Black) works great as a spray cover up on the Ace Sliders.

I had a set on my '13 JKUR and they were awesome! I am going to order a set for my ordered JLUR today so I have them when it gets here! What I like about them is the sturdiness....you can stand on them anywhere and they don't move, absolutely no door dings, they help keep the stones from the tires hitting the door hinges, and they look good! (personal preference)

I had ACE on my 2 door and really liked them. I need some for my JLU asap. The sport looks so plan without at minimum the Rubi rails.

Heve em on my 2dr JK and love them!! They have taken a beating on rock crawling and have held up well besides the normal scrapes on bottom. I will be ordering them for my JLUR!!!

I’m on the Ski hills preparing and running races (Para, NorAm, etc), and then when I get back in town for a few day, usually busy with work. Don’t really get a break until late March. Even when I get a week off like next week, back into the Mountains with family from out East flying out to go skiing during Univ reading week.

Coulda been even more occupied & MIA , didn’t go to the Olympics this year (trained others, plus Koreans for the past 6 years instead). My counterpart is on the East coast right now in Vt but even that would be about 4 wks away from family.

Now keeping with the the thread, while I don’t have pictures from our old 2dr JK Sport with them on without Rubi rails, here’s the JKU (with Rubi rails) with some 2yr old Ace Rails with some ultra powdery snow on them... of course the day after I get back from the mountains.

Well... maybe a pic with a little less snow on them to see them better...

IMO if you don’t have the Rubi rails, add them also as take-offs from another Wrangler; on the JK I’ve seen them sold for as little as $70CDN, JKU usually $90-ish, likely not so many available from the new JL/JLU owners initially, so maybe need to wait and add later.

Just ordered these today. Keep in mind, these aren't made for rock crawling. 02/09, they told me via email that they would be shipping in 7-10 days so they should be shipping anyday now. Will update once I receive them. Probably won't install them til I get the Mopar lift and my tires/wheels. Gonna make one big trip and install everything sometime in March. Hopefully will have bumpers and lights also by then.

Yep, that’s the beauty of them you can double-up on protection, plus no drilling/welding, so you can add them in 30-90 mins (depending on level of additional assistance) and then when you get a new Wrangler you can swap them to the new one (I don’t think JK will go to JL, but still haven’t fully confirmed from ACE yet) but if you get them for you JL(U) you should be able to swap them in 5 years if you want. Of course you can always sell them and rebuy, but IMO you will lose value, so as long as they are still in good shape why not swap?

Not sure about the new JL premium rails, but the HardRock & Recon rails on the JK (or the Sahara steps, or the Sport Tubes) required you removing the Rubi rails. I temporarily put a spare passenger Sahara rail on my old Rubi for the GF, but hated them so swapped back and was considering the HR rails before getting the ACE.

Just ordered some rubicon rails for our sport yesterday for that same reason. Not going to be a major off-roader and mainly purchased as wife’s daily driver and motorhome toad but it looked incomplete without something there
