They work pretty good, they are solid. They mount on 3 big bolts (which I’ve also siliconed and foamed). How well do the Ace Sliders work as a step? I am short.
My GF as well as my sister and co-workers use them all the time as passengers or when they borrow it. I’m over 6ft and don’t need them for access, but I use them for lifting & securing temporary loads to the roof, and sometimes checking/mucking around with the soft top, and I weigh ~250 (depending on beer consumption
I don’t jump up & down on them, but they are solid enough for me to stand on both feet and loft 100lbs of cable onto the roof and stay there for a minute or two to secure it (sometimes I use the door ledge depending on placement of gear, etc). I would think a few brief seconds of partial load while using as a step would be nothing, even over many uses.
There are definitely wider & better steps, but this is a great combo of actual usable rock rail & step, and easy install & removal.
