Hi all,
2022 JLUR, looking for a decent set of rock sliders without breaking the bank. No Amazon-specials, but not $1500 (or more) sliders made for hardcore crawlers either. This is my daily driver that I wheel in ORV parks and do some overlanding in the northeast. I'm on 35s with a Clayton 1.5" lift, so something commensurate with that, which will give me decent protection and an extra step to get my wife and older relatives inside.

At the moment, I do NOT have the factory Rubicon rock rails; the previous owner put on plastic steps instead. They're useful day to day, but they need to be replaced with frame-mounted steel. I was considering the Rocky Road JL1-81, but at $800 including the outside step bar, that's a little more than I'd like to spend. On the other hand, if anything below that quality is just junk, then I guess I'll bite the bullet. Ideally the $500-600 range is kinda where I'd like to be, considering I will need them installed as well. Please and thanks.

I run Goat Fabrication sliders on both of my Jeeps. Both are the angled ones and I have one with the faceplate and one without. They make a decent step and rugged as they can be. I have really abused the ones on my 392 and it hasn't phased them. On about every trail day, someone asks who made my custom rails that work with the factory rails.

Very Nice, but $1200 is double what I'd planned to spend.

Why not put Rubicon rails on? They fit, they work, they aren't too expensive if you buy take-offs. Seems like the easiest answer is the best answer.

Because I'd like the extra step option, not just the slider itself.

I have the Barricade Enhanced Rubi Rails on my 2 door.
They've held up under any abuse I've thrown at them and the nerf bars make perfect steps for my 5'4" wife. Fit just like the factory rails...

I figured the cheap Amazon crap would do that, but wasn't sure if I could find something decent in the $600 range.

Remember that with inflation the $600 slider of today is the sub-$500 slider of 5 years ago. Price increased, but quality didn't.

I’ve only done moderate trails so far, but I’d rather ā€œbuy once cry onceā€. You can buy budget ā€œslidersā€ that get bent up and possibly cause damage to the tub and then have to buy another set after getting any body damage fixed. But everyone has their own reason for why they bought their Jeep and how it will be used.

So I ultimately went with LoD Signature series. They look good, have excellent reviews and should mount reasonably easily. Thanks all.
