Hello everyone!! I’m new to the Jeep community. I have a 21’ Rubicon Unlimited. We are starting to meet some fellow jeepers to go trail riding. But my wife and I are wanting to take a week long road trip with each night we stop, we camp. But we want to make it fun while we are driving. Hitting trails or seeing tourist attractions on the way. We’re from Brookhaven, Ms. Does anyone have any ideas for a fun and adventurous road trip.

I suppose it depends on how much time you have - it is a very long way to go, but a visit to Southern Utah (Moab for Jeep adventures and the 5 national parks) is amazing, and if you have time there are a ton of gorgeous places just on the west side of the Rockies

First and foremost, ENJOY! Highway, trails, beach, rocks. Just take time and enjoy! Wife and I are still new to this Jeep thing. We touched base on a road trip, beach, and trails (complete with rocks). And they're all on the list to do repeatedly. We're able to sleep right in the Jeep with an air mattress and sail type cover for the back end of our JLU, we also carry a 10x10 screen room for bug free freedom. The more you do, the more you see just how you adapt to your choices on where to go (you are only limited to your decisions, cause Jeeps can go pretty much anywhere, at anytime). Just remember to enjoy, take time to make memories, and take pics so you can share, and reflect. Also, be safe!

Thank you. All that info is helpful. This will actually be our first roadtrip since we’ve been married. But we love to camp, the outdoors and our new hobby with the jeep.

We would love to go to the Rockies! But I believe we would need more than a week to travel from MS. But that’s definitely a great idea

Did this trip over Labor Day weekend. I’d definitely recommend it, but waiting a month or so till it cools off is a good idea, it was 104° in Zion and camping wasn’t that pleasant.

Maybe head toward Tennessee to hit the mountains or maybe toward Colorado. Definitely somewhere there are mountains. My wife just told she wants to go white water rafting
You’re looking at nearly a whole day of driving each way to hit the mountains of CO from MS. You could be in TN in a few hours.

Start day one with a drive to the Ozarks. Then stay a day in a variety of spots between there and Custer State Park in South Dakota. Drive 20 hours back at the end.

Just enjoy. Never do more than what your Jeep is setup for, or capable of handling. And plan ahead. You can learn a lot about where you're looking to go online. If it's Jeep territory, someone most likely posted about it. Giving you a heads up on what to expect. You two will have an absolute blast. Oh, and one finer detail. Make sure you give the wife some driver seat time, especially off road. Best to know how to do this stuff, than to just see how its done. Have fun!!!

Not sure if you have explored these options yet, but there are a few not far from your location. Stony Lonesome OHV Park in Alabama is a moderate off road trail to try. Or Hot Springs off road park in Arkansas through Quartz Canyon is not far from you. Bridgeport Texas has an off road park, Northwest OHV park. Also Hidden falls adventure park in Marble falls, TX another nearby option for you. Try downloading the badge of honor Jeep app for more info on some of these.
