Rewired Alpine Sub

In my quest to get a sub to work with the MB Quart stage 6 this is the solution that I have found until Quart releases their own drop in sub for JLU's. The sub is 4 voice coils with 2 ohm impedance to each coil. I have been using it this way with a Quart 400.1 amp for about three months and I am not easy on it. The picture shows how you would wire it or you could use the factory plug but I cut that up when I tried out a JL 10TW-3.

Any noticeable change with the mat and poly in the enclosure?

It seems a little "tighter" that my wife's stock Alpine in her JL. I also have the bass knob wired in so I can move it up with the old classic rock that I like. The bass rolloff on older stuff us significant.

Old thread Resurrection but I'm curious how it sounds and performs with the aftermarket amp compared to stock. I'm debating on trying this before I get with BRP for one of their kits

I ran that way for about a year and was satisfied with the sound. Tried a slim JL Audio sub on top and without the BRP ring and then woth it. The ID of the ring was reduced after I made a comment. Ended up with the Quart Sub.
