Not sure what happened. As you can see, my front camera is working but now the backup cam won’t. I’ve unconnected battery, restarted system, checked wiring from plug to plug. Worked fine before the install? Anyone had this happen or know what to do?

Can you grab a picture of your camera and where it’s mounted?

Lol, I‘m going through the same exact issue right now I ordered a new backup camera through Mopar of course it doesn’t fit, too big I ordered a different coax cable to go with the new camera. Hopefully that will work. I ll keep you posted.

I did that the new camera will fit but the coax hook up is a different size so I ordered a new coax to go with the new camera. I ll post pics in case if it happens to anyone else. I gotta make sure it works first.

Try jiggling the cable. I have to jiggle and then bend my cable a certain way to get it to work. It does not take much to mess up that connection. My local dealer screwed mine up when they took off my spare to rotate the tires. Never letting them do that again.

FYI:

There are two different backup cameras. One for vehicles without the front trailcam, and one for those built with them.

1 style camera connects direct to the radio unit. The other connects to the CVPM which front trailcam equipped trucks have.

They are not compatible. A backup camera for front trailcam equipped vehicles will not work in a Jeep that doesn't have it and vice versa. They speak a different protocol. They are also physically different looking. The rear cams for front trailcam equipped Jeeps have a bigger lens.

The connectors however, are the same and are keyed to connect only in one orientation. The connector is called "FAKRA".

Gladiator pics for reference, factory rear camera for NON front trailcam trucks on left. Factory rear camera for front trailcam equipped trucks on right. Wrangler will obviously have a different housing but the idea is the same.
