Any idea how to fix code $7EC? Using the reader I see there two codes, both same, one just says its permanent
Details says C221F
From my search it looks like related to power steering.
Here is more background on how I did this lol
I was running some wires through the driver side grommet and disconnected the brake fluid sensor and another sensor next to it. not sure what that sensor is for. Battery was disconnected.
Once I ran my wires and connected everything up, I got super excited and connected the battery terminals, put the Jeep on ACC and it threw a CEL. I immediately realized what I did - I still had both of those sensors disconnected.
Turned the Jeep off, connected the sensors back, but the CEL wont go away.
So far tried the following:
* cleared code with reader - doesnt work. As soon as I clear it, the reader beeps and the code is back.
* drove around 20 miles or so in a hope it will resolve itself - it didnt.
* last ditch effort - right now both 12v battery terminals are disconnected, hood open. I will leave her like that for the night in a hope that it goes away.
Jeep drives just fine.
Any ideas?
