Not sure where to post this but I figure it might be useful for some. Feel free to move/delete/call me mean names if I’ve got the wrong spot.

If you also find replying to this forum overly difficult due to the cursor jumping around on mobile devices, or not treating spaces right…

Before you type your response, hit the “cog” image on the text editor. I did some digging as I find the jumping around obnoxious. That disables rich edit, but also stops all of that frustrating behavior. This site appears to use Xenforo, which relies on a third party editor and that’s a known bug (in what might be an earlier version). It looks like it might save that preference between replies.

You can’t click bold, underline, and other format options, but it won’t make you want to throw your gadget into a river.

Good to know. I pretty much stopped posting on my phone due to the annoyance of it, so this should help.

What phone? It used to be pretty bad on my Pixel 7, but it's decent now as long as you're not trying to do tables or anything complex.

iOS. I haven’t tried it on a test pixel. It seems to be tons better on the iPhone/iPad though.

There was an issue where backspacing would chew up extra characters when crossing line wraps, but that seems to have been resolved.

Does what you're experiencing occur when ads change and the new one is a different size?

Tons better on an iPhone / iPad than what?

It’s as though the text box is keeping track of the cursor position but is off, or perhaps there are some JavaScript callbacks that are slow. Double taps won’t space or will back up over more than it should. It seems like that same issue, certainly more pronounced with the wrapping. It also seems to impact correct, but not sure how (maybe OS text field sees a different value than the edit control renders due to the slower callbacks or whatever it is). Turning off rich editing clears it up entirely, so it’s tons better than before I figured out that it’s the rich edit. :)

iOS devices show it the most using Safari. Seems okay on Mac OS and Chrome/Linux. Haven’t tried it on Android or windows yet, it seems most pronounced on iPhone.
