Long story short, I scratched up my defroster duct while removing that front upper edge trim on the dashboard and would like to replace it. I found the part online at a reasonable price (https://store.mopar.com/oem-parts/mopar-defroster-duct-7fs65tx7ac), but when checking with one of the dealers in the area, they wanted ~$1800 total in parts and labor to replace this trim. The service personnel stated that it would require the removal of the entire dashboard assembly, which really surprised me since it looks like it should be just 6-8 bolts to remove once you take the tweeters and the little tray piece out, but please correct me if I'm wrong.
I tried searching on this part and it seems most topics were about redirecting the defroster ducting to make it more effective. Has anyone replaced this part themselves and can confirm the dealer is overestimating the labor/cost involved? I would definitely replace it myself if it's as straightforward as it looks in the exploded diagram.
@AllMoparParts.com I see if you guys have helped someone find the part number for this trim before, would you happen to confirm the procedure/process to replace this trim?
Thanks in advance.
