2018 JLU Sahara 6-Speed Manual
I'm experiencing a problem I've seen reported by quite a few 6-speed owners, my transmission pops out of 2nd gear while slowing down. It's not every time, but it happens a couple times a day. My Jeep is a 2018 JLU Sahara 3.6L. Reading these forums I've seen most people have the problem resolved by getting a new transmission under warranty. While my Jeep only has 57,000 miles, it's 8 years old and no longer under warranty.

Has anyone done a DIY transmission swap on a 6-speed JLU? Do you have any advice? I'm considering running the current tranny until the problem becomes more than I'm willing to put up with, and then buying a refurbished 6-speed to replace the current one. Sounds reasonable to me in theory, but my limited experience pales in comparison to wealth of knowledge on this forum.

Trans swap is very easy and straight forward. Adjusting the cable bracket so all the shifts works well is the hardest part but even then, it’s not bad.
