Although my OEM battery is still working (bought 11/20) I just ordered an Interstate MTX94R battery. I have the "tow package" so it should shoe right in.

I figured when it gets here I'd put it on the trickle charger prior to install. When disconnecting/reconnecting the negative and positive is there anything to be aware of? I know when connecting them back the Uconnect will be missing some features and may take sometime to "get back to normal". Anything else to that should be pointed out?

Thanks for the help - btw: the battery threads have been helpful, but just double checking anything else.

You’ve got it. Just put the new one in. UConnect may miss some features initially - but as you noted - they come back within a few hours. Nothing special.

Do you have an aux battery? If so, you should replace both so that a weak aux won’t drain your new main. Technically you should perform a battery replacement reset, but most don’t and the system will adjust soon enough. If you don’t tell the system there is a new battery, the system could over charge the new battery, although I dont think this is much of an issue unless your old battery was very weak. I replaced mine without a reset and have not had any issues.

Be prepared for some sparks when connecting the new battery.

Check all cable connections while you are in there. It's rare, but you may find one not so tight. Wouldn't hurt to Put corrosion inhibitor on connections.

After install is complete and all basic checks are done you should start your Jeep and let it run for a bit. Check the voltage with all accessories and lights on while engine is running and then engine off. That's how I do it to verify the new battery holds up.
