Hogzilla: resurrecting this thread because you did a simple fix that I'm wondering about. I'd like to avoid a new amp, sub, cost - but want to improve the Alpine sub output. I was shocked to see an empty plastic enclosure when I saw videos of it being disassembled. Deadener and polyfill noticeably improved the stock sub setup? Thanks!I don't know the size but I took mine apart this weekend to add polyfill to it and added sound deadener to every area the entire closure butts up against because I was experiencing an annoying rattle on certain bass frequencies. To my surprise when I pulled the sub out the entire panel enclosure is hollow the entire length of the enclosure. I'd guess at least 1 cubic foot if I had to. I filled the entire thing with polyfill and it sounds 100% better. It's sealed not ported. The sound deadener lined on the body seems to have gotten rid of the rattle too.
