Hoping someone can point me in the right direction, or just tell me I'm crazy to try it and better off paying the dealer.

I have a pretty bad tear in the bottom cushion of the driver's seat of my 2020 Rubicon Unlimited. I figured I could buy an OEM replacement and DIY it, but I can't seem to find any instructions on how to do this online. From what I was able to find, it seems like this is a fairly involved process. I'm pretty mechanically inclined, and do a lot my own maintenance, but I wanted to see a set of instrucitons/YouTube video to see what I was getting into before buying the replacement part.

Has anyone here done this themselves/know where I could find instructions?

I talked to two dealers to see if I could get it replaced under warranty, but both are labeling it "wear and tear" and quoting me about $700 to replace it. (Side note: I'm a little annoyed because I have the Mopar "Maximum Care" extended warranty and they're still saying it's not covered, but that's probably for a different thread.)

For reference, this is the part that I need to install: https://www.autonationparts.com/parts/mopar-front-seat-cushion-cover-left-6pw86vt9af

Any help/suggestions are much appreciated - Thanks

Just so you know. If you take it to a local upholstery place. They can do it way cheaper. They may even be able to repair your seat or build you a ne replacement cover.

Also just know I paid a local to me upholstery place $700 and they took all the factory foam out and rebuilt both front seats with the most gel memory foam they could fit into the stock seat covering. It made a huge difference. My Jeep is 16 to 20 hour multi day runs comfortable.

Thanks - that's a good point - I'll check in with a few auto upholstery places nearby.

If you’re mechanically inclined, you can do it yourself…by a hog ring pliers and a bag of hog rings on Amazon, watch a YouTube video where a guy does exactly what you want to do, and you can get it done in about 2 hours.
I replaced an entire interior with OEM leather…it’s actually not that difficult.
if you have any questions send me a PM.
