They fix frames all the time.Was the accident your fault? I'm no expert, but seriously consider having it totaled. My experience in that area is that they don't "fix" frames anymore. They replace them.
When my F150 was rear-ended, it bent the frame under the bed. They lopped the frame at the "joint" put a new rear 3rd in, replaced the entire bed and I had my truck back. Truck with 1200ish miles on it.
Frames are made to be sectioned out now. A lot of them have spots where it can be cut, then they new part is interested in, welded in, recoated and everything put back together.
You don't get to tell insurance to total it out. They will decide that based on cost to repair.
