That doesn’t happen with mine. I believe when I use remote start I don’t have to step on the brake first either. Just push the start button. Will double-check for sure tomorrow.
You are correct, sir.

My ‘19 doesn’t do that - have you checked the settings in the head unit?

What setting are you referring to?
There’s tons of different options in the settings menu of the head unit, wouldn’t surprise me at all if that wasn’t one of them. If needed, go to Apps then settings.

I’ve had this happen.

once I remote started it and opened the tail gate and it shut off.

next time I did the same steps and it didn’t shut off. Wife opened the passenger door and it shut off.

weird.

I can reproduce it 100% of time, anytime anyone opens the passenger door before I hit the start button it shuts off the engine. My guess is it's trying to be a security feature or something.

I don't know if this is by design or not. When I remote start my jeep ('22 JLUR) regardless of how long it's ran as soon as I open the door the engine is shut off. My wife's car doesn't do this, it requires you to get in the car and hold the brake and hit the start button to be able to drive. Am I missing a setting or is something wrong?

The first time it happened I thought the timer had just ran out. But the last time it happened I was walking towards my jeep when I started it and within 30 seconds I opened the door and the engine stopped.
Did you find a solution to this? I have a 22 JL and it seems like one remote does this and the other doesn’t. I’m going to ask the dealer when I take it for an oil change but not sure they’ll have a solution either.

I didn't best, I can tell is it's designed this way. Not sure why though.

The weird part for me is that one fob does it but the other doesn’t. Do both of yours do it?

Play around with the uconnect settings. I am sure there is a checkbox that needs to be either checked or unchecked. I am sure it is something simple like that. Mine stays running after I remote start it and open the door. You'd have to press the brake and run to go thereafter.

I'm not 100% sure. I guess I've never tried the other. Next time I get a chance I'll test it.

For mine at least I can open my door, the back door, or the rear gate, and it will stay running; but if my wife walks up and opens the passenger front door before I've hit the start button it'll kill the engine.

I went into the garage and remote started the Jeep. I left the remote a good distance away. When I went to grab the driver door it was locked. Same with all doors. I walked back and used the fob to unlock all my doors. Put the remote away from Jeep and went to open passenger front door. Engine stayed running.

try this out. Go to your Uconnect settings and see how your locks are set up. I have mine to require two presses of the unlock button to release all doors and one press for drivers only. If you have yours set to one press for all doors, it may be set up to shut off the engine if it does not detect the fob (your wife for example on the other side of the vehicle)
I think that’s the ticket right there.

Never mind, that’s not the ticket! I set my locks to all doors and went to open passenger side door and it stayed running

I thought maybe it was a low battery in the fob so tried swapping with the one that doesn’t do it. Didn’t fix it.
Probably won’t get it to the dealer till the new year but interested to see what they say about it.
