So I changed the battery on the remote and now the remote isn’t opening and closing the car from a distance inclusive of remote start. At times, you can’t even start the vehicle unless using the edge of the key on the start button. Watched alotnof YouTube videos but haven’t seen anything that’s worthy trying. Thanks in advance!

Sounds like you installed a dead battery. Try another one fresh from the store. My fob happened to die while I was at the dealer getting oil. Paid $10 for a new battery that went dead next day. Prolly had been laying at dealership for years?

That doesn't mean it isn't dead or weak. Meter it and see what voltage you are getting. Does your other FOB work? swap the battery with that one maybe if you don't have a meter.

I bought two batteries for both fobs and got the same issue.... will try using the volt meter to see how much juice the batteries have. I suspect its more of a frequency or sensing issue!

I had a customer yesterday tell me the same thing. Their battery was installed upside down.

Check the simple things first. Do you own a volt meter?

Yes. I have a volt meter. The positive side of the battery should be up?

Make sure you do NOT touch the button battery with your bare fingers, either (obviously) non conductive tweezers or use a rubber glove. Usually even brief grab gets your fingers on both the "+" and "-" and they could discharge even if they are brand new... Someone told me that many, many years ago, I have no idea if it is true, but that is how I handlle those button batteries always...
