Soooo I have remote proximity and this morning I locked my FOB in my Jeep...along with everything else cards, phone, etc. *gasp* Years of having vehicles with this feature has made it sheer habit to lock the door using the lock button on the door panel. Luckily I was able to login through UConnect and unlock it. Damn what a load of crap. For anyone that does not know you aren't supposed to be able to lock your FOB in the vehicle what it should do is remain UNLOCKED and beep 2-3 times and alerting you that you're trying to lock the vehicle with the FOB within it's proximity. Hoping this is just an issue with the battery in the FOB getting low but it also has given no warning or indication otherwise. I won't be able to troubleshoot until I get home. Has anyone else had issues?

That's crazy. That's the whole point of proximity so that can't happen. I'd report that to the dealer. I'm not sure about the low battery in the fob as it should need the same amount of juice to register its proximity for keeping it unlocked as it would to allow you to lock it (and how long have you had it that you should be experiencing low battery in the fob, unless it was loaded with a defective battery).

So a dumb question. Did you have the other FOB in proximity? I have done this before but later found out the other FOB was in my tool chest so it did lock.
Not a silly question, that makes sense as it seems it could pose the possibility of interference. The other fob was at my house and I was at work

I keep my second key fob wrapped in foil in the Jeep. Had a key made to open the doors. Just in case I'm in the boonies and loose the fob. No problem with locking it with the fob cause it cant see the fob in foil. I would take it to the dealer. Shouldn't lock with fob inside.

The driver's side should prevent you from doing it. I did it tonight and left my key in the car inadvertantly, then the Jeep beeped at me and unlocked itself, when I locked+closed the front driver's door using electronic locks.

However, if you lock it with the PASSENGER door, you are SOL unless you have a spare key - or have the top off :facepalm:

@MtCamper

If you ever decide to replace the foil with an upgraded shield, consider this Faraday Bag. I can tell you that this one is just the rgith size for the JL Fob... it's well made..Made in the USA, works well. I prefer it over aluminum foil.
