I have had intermittent issues with the proximity sensor/passive entry on my drivers door since a couple months after getting my 2023. At one point it got bad enough that I took it to the dealer who said they couldn't replicate the issue but that they pulled the door handle apart and cleaned it anyway. Strangely when they gave it back it worked perfectly despite it only working about 1 out of every 7 tries prior to that for weeks leading up to the visit.

No issues for like 6 months and then I had a paint issue on my driver door that was warrantied but they had to disassemble the entire door. After I got my jeep back, maybe one week later I started getting the intermittent proximity failure. The failure was definitely electrical/computer related both times - it would work sometimes, sometimes it wouldn't, I would have to push the lock button 5 or 6 times and it would usually work at some point but the handle sensor to unlock would almost never work except *right* after getting the lock button to work.

Passenger door and tailgate door always worked perfectly.

Reading other peoples issues a lot of people said it could be a bent pin - I disregarded that the first time as my doors had never been off the vehicle since purchasing it, but this time instead of taking it back to the dealer I thought I'd disconnect the driver door cable and check the pins myself.

Let me just say, ONE pin was off by MAYBE one millimeter - I had to shine a flashlight and angle the connector just right to even see that the pin was off even slightly. It was one of the larger pins on the bottom. Anyway I used a flathead screwdriver and slightly bent the pin back to match the angle of the other pins around it and voila problem solved. Guessing the pin was so close to touching that if i pushed the lock button enough times it would *occasionally* activate when the pin happened to graze the connector.

Why these door connectors are made the way they are I'll never know, at the very least the pins should be on the door side so they're easier to see/get to.
