I have a 2024 Sport S 3.6 automatic and have recently put on a 2.5 lift and 35” tires. Next i am going to put 4.56 gears and Eaton Truetrac both axels. A friend at the transmission shop who is doing the gears warned me there could be some electrical issues that will need addressed for it to work and accept the new gears, he said he has seen one that needed

programmed before it would drive. Would a jscan fix this issue or would it need dealer programed.

Jscan or a Tazer. Or the dealership.

It will drive but the speedometer will be off and the transmission will shift funny until you tell the computer about the tires and gears.

A regear is likely the most optimal option. But for reference, the ZF8 auto adapts to my 35's with zero issues. I too have a JL Sport 3.6L. Unless you're a purist, or have powertrain OCD, try running on your 35's without regearing for a bit. Re-evaluate after that.

I used jscan. Super easy to use and wasn't very expensive either. Just need to pay for your vin and buy some cables to connect your phone to your jeep.

I have a 2.0T and added 35" tires and had the factory 3.45 gearing for a year before I regeared to 4.88's. For street driving, yes the automatic trans will 'compensate' enough and get you by. I noticed a night and day difference while wheeling the Jeep. It was worth it if you wheel regularly.

Do they make a TrueTrac for the D35?

depends on *which* D35 you're referring to; you need to be careful to be specific.

Truetrac application guide.

@TNShaker
sounds like some misunderstanding with your 'friend' at the transmission shop.
"electrical problems" ? you *will* need to do something to adjust your vehicle to the new tire size and/or gear ratio to get your Speedo and Odo to read accurately (there's many threads on here about using a Jscan vs Tazer, etc.), but i don't think i'd call that an "electrical problem".
i'd be more concerned about making sure i did a proper break-in routine on the new gears.
