I was thinking Sharpie on the seat. As long as the piece sticking up is not going to snag and get worse.
Same here on the seat if they will not replace. now the steering wheel is different. Every time your hand goes across that the rest of your life it would bother you. Sorry to hear this.
I am in sales for a living and I always talk about how everyone has issues, the difference is how you take care of them after the sale. It would be very hard to keep repeat customers and sell for this dealership. I’m not sure If I believe the dealer, as the seat is definitely a manufacturer defect steering wheel maybe not so. Email Jeep Cares and see if they really do. Good luck.

My opinion is that your dealer should take care of the steering wheel trim without question. They should fix it and fight it out between them and FCA without your involvement. The seat might not really be an issue unless there's a chance for the leather to tear at that spot (I doubt it). You could probably find something similar on any number of make's seats if you look hard enough. Quality control was never a strong point of Chrysler before it became FCA. When comparing fit, finish and material quality between the JK and JL, the JL is much improved.

I just picked up my 19 JLUR after my 18 was bought back. I will say the 19 definitely built much better - no body gaps, generally no issues but the front renders on inside (painted flares) have a small wave - I could complain but at this point happy to be out of my 18.

Anyone saying it’s a luxury vehicle - it isn’t. It’s a $30K car optioned out to cost what a luxury vehicle begins at around $50K but you’re paying for build of a $30K car. Unfortunately FCA doesn’t have a division like AMG where they hand make the higher end / special models and truly make sure for the price point it’s done right. I’ve simply accepted it’s a Jeep, unfortunately price since I bought an 06 Rubi has gone up $20K+ but still a Jeep.

Do you happen to know the build date for the 2018 JLUR? Mine was built in late July 18. I'm wondering if there is build date such that after that date the vehicles were improved. Thanks.

I had a rough scuff on the dash cut out that fits around the bezel of one of the air vents. Also one of the center console plastic plugs/covers (passenger side) was missing.

Had both noted at time of lease and documented with the dealer. They're going to address both as a condition of delivery.

Luxury does not have to mean massage chairs and 10 decibel road noise. Having such a large amount of off-road capability is a luxury in itself.
Price essentially dictates it being luxury or not yes. A $10k BMW is luxury? Likely not. A $70k honda is luxury? Likely yes.

One would assume better build practised would be employed in a vehicle costing more it's just assumed. Does Mercedes employ stricter build practices in even their c class vs. Their smart car? I would hope so.
Yeh, I think the confusion here is with "Luxury" and "high end".... The JL is by no means a luxury car and was never intended to be. But, it is still a high end car and you would assume that because of that FCA would put some effort into customer service and satisfaction....

i was lucky enough , when i was checking jeep chat for when my vehicle was being delivered to the dealer, it was a sunday morning, they said it delivered yesterday, meaning saturday...i was surprised because the dealer never called me...so i took a ride to the dealer , 4 miles away from me, knowing they were closed on a sunday, hoping it was in their lot....sure enough it was outside in their lot and i spent all the time i wanted to inspect the entire outside and engine and under the jeep, with no one bothering me.....

Word to the wise. Inspect your Jeep carefully at delivery and reject delivery until you have it in writing that any cosmetic flaws are documented and will be addressed. I was in a hurry on the day I picked mine up and now have a hassle on my hands.

My dealer is having to fight with FCA to get two minor flaws (one on the passenger seat, one on the silver plastic part of the steering wheel) addressed.

I mentioned them to my salesperson the day after delivery and he said no problem, just bring it back when you have a chance.

FCA made them take pictures and denied the claim saying they weren’t manufacturing defects, which is probably true... both look like sloppy handling damage.

I’ve never had this issue with other brands I’ve purchased recently (GM, Mercedes, Toyota). I had a seat cover in my Corvette replaced six months after I bought it due to a loose stitch and didn’t have a hassle at all.

My dealer is appealing the decision but save yourself the hassle and inspect your vehicle VERY carefully at deliver as it appears FCA is pinching pennies when it comes to taking care of their customers.
Yup, FCA no longer offers the lifetime extended warranty gee I wonder why ?
