Went to my dealer last Friday night, they told me FCA no longer will replace the back glass for the broken defroster, the told me to leave it for 2 days and they will have to send it to a glass shop for repair , not very happy but they advised FCA will only pay for a repair??

This happened to mine and the dealer replaced the back wi dow twice and it still burned out. They suppossedly called corporate and they are sending a part out but thats been three weeks ago. The dealer had my truck for a 11 days and did nothing so I picked it back up while they are waiting for part to come in. I asked the service advisor if this so called part will fix it and he wasn't sure....so its a trial-and-error type of thing. Very dissatisfied with a brand new 2018...Sahara unlimited...I bought it January 22nd of 2018 and its been in the dealers for repairs at least 5 times.

I had the same problem. Called the dealer, made an appt., no questions asked. I dropped my Jeep off on thurs morning & picked up it fri afternoon. That was 3 wks ago. Working like a charm.

You need a different dealer. My primary dealer I purchased the JL from told me there was nothing they could do about my broken rear seat latch, saying "well, you broke it" (it just fell apart after 5 uses).

I tried another dealer, and when I was describing how it broke the tech stopped me and said "no no no....its not 'broken'....the latch just 'came off'. Its all in how you word things with FCA." 100% covered no questions asked.

Jerpcares. Ever got back to me , too cold to try the epoxy so I just soldered the button back on . Hopefully it will hold through this polar vortex week

For those that need heat for their epoxy solution, rig up a hair dryer to hang upside down and blow upwards on the site. Worked well for me. Kept the epoxy at 150f while it cured.

I went to my dealer today. I noticed mine hanging last week. They told me they soldered one back on and it came back off. They are awaiting an official fix from Jeep. Check back every few weeks till Jeep decides what to do.

Add me to this list. Noticed my rear defroster wasn't working yesterday. Found the wire dangling exactly as shown in the first post in this thread. My appointment with the dealer is on Monday where they will also flash the latest TSB (off-road pages) to my Unconnect system.

Update. Went to the Jeep dealership this morning to have them address the solder joint repair. They are ordering a new rear window. It's backordered so they told me to expect a few week delay. Crazy that they are replacing the entire window instead of finding a re-engineered fix for the connection.

It’s almost ten degrees where I live and I woke up this morning to defrost my car.

After my car warmed up, I waited a hour and the back window still wouldn’t defrost.

I went back and opened the window and discovered that one of the wires was detached from this window.

I’ve seen this incident happen to many people on this forum. Would anyone happen to know how it was fixed?

It definitely fell apart on its own because I haven’t opened my trunk in a while.

Any advice would be appreciated
