My passenger side rear brake is squealing under light braking. Heavy braking and there is no noise. I’ve changed pads thinking that would solve it, but no. The rotor is in great shape, no warping, or rust. The Jeep only has 25k miles. I’ve lubed all the contact points of the pad and pad hardware to the caliper. What gives?? There’s no noise while driving, just when light pressure is applied. Any ideas? It’s annoying the hell out of me.

My front driver squeaks when first breaking less than a year and 12k miles. Dealer said they have to take the caliper apart to lube the slide pins. Probably not lubed enough from the factory. Or if you don’t drive often or drive in dry dusty places it can dry out over time.

It sounds like you lubed all the new brake hardware properly and that the squealing started prior to the new pads, ?

What type of lube are you using? I strictly use 3M copper anti-seize and throw out the lube that comes with new pads.

Mine is doing it a little. The most effective thing I've seen to address this is some isolation plates or shims that are soft aluminum or zinc. They are installed by putting a high temperature silicone grease between the shim and the backing plate of the brake pad.

Did your replacement brake pads come with isolation shims? Probably not, if they are Mopar. You might look for some aftermarket isolation shims. Or, if you're handy, just cut some from .015" soft aluminum then apply the silicone grease.

Yes. The squealing happened on the old pads. I remember my Jk would wear out rear pads before fronts, so I figured that was it. The pads had some life left, but I figured to change them anyway. No change in noise.
And yes, I use the same 3m.

Did you clean and lube your slide pins (as mentioned from @fspalt )?

Strange issue you’re having as it seems you’ve covered everything. I’ve never come across an issue like this before with my vehicles.

What type of pad do you use? Metallic? Ceramic? Organic? I wonder if it’s the type of pad you’re using and it’s just the nature of the pad. Try swapping to ceramic or organic. Although, strange you’re only getting it on one corner.

I’m curious to see if the shim @roaniecowpony mentioned would work.

I’m really interested to see what the problem is. ?
