Sounds like the ball joints on my old Blazer used to sound when they were going bad. Never heard that sound out of brakes on any vehicle. Just get it into a shop and have it diagnosed, they'll tell you exactly what it is. From there you can choose to fix it yourself of have them do it. Most places will diagnose for free.

Sadly, I am experiencing something similar, not quite as bad or loud. Only 12,000 miles on a stock '21 Willys. Ours is noisy on the driver's rear brakes. Began around 6,000 miles or so, ever so slightly and over time has progressively increased in volume. I had it checked out when they replaced a leaking coolant reservoir(Oct 13-24). The service department didn't notice the noise till I had to point it out and demonstrate how to replicate the noise. A shop foreman came and diagnosed the noise(educated guess?) as a faulty brake pad retaining clip. He says ""clips" are not sold individually but included in a brake pad set. Service advisor estimated repair costs in the neighborhood of $600 out of pocket. After 2 weeks of haggling via email/text, dealer is ordering parts kit to replace for FREE. Drawback, they claim the part is on back order through the holidays, not expected till January 2o23.
I will keep you all updated as time goes by.

Sorry for the delayed response...
Yes, the squeak/rattle sounds appeared loudest when slowly creeping forwards/reverse(like when parking.) Also apparent when hitting small bumps/cracks/holes in the pavement while driving. Never bad enough for passengers to notice unless I mention it, but drove me crazy knowing it was happening.

Just a quick update, dropped my jeep off at dealer on Monday. They removed and replaced rear brake pads and all corresponding hardware, all under warranty. I drove away in total peace, brakes are now silent, just like the day we took it home. Hoping it remains that way for a while.
Side note, as I was driving home from dealer, I hear another JLU experiencing the same noises...

If I had to guess, it's one of the springs on the parking brake is not hooked up and rubbing on the inside of the drum. I've hears the same thing on other cars and trucks where a spring broke and it made the same noise. Due to the QC at Jeep, it would not suprise me that it's unhooked. The parking brake is similar to what you see on Ford and Chevy Pickups.

That was the one of the 1st things I checked when recently rotated tires. Springs and cable were connected correctly. I also took brakes down to the rotors, removing/reinstalling calipers. Still had noise after that. As luck would have it, the coolant reservoir ruptured, needing warranty replacement. So they got to address both at the same time.

Did you remove the rotor and look at the shoes?

Nope, i didn't remove the rotor due to time constraints at that moment. As always, i got interrupted and rushed by the kid. Oh well. Glad it got resolved.

My RR parking brake was never adjusted from the factory. Just one of the many QC problems from the factory. Again, I think it was built on a Friday or before a holiday weekend. Since it was built in April, I figured right before Easter break.

My noise is different. Sounds like a rattle on the rear DS wheel. Got home one day and could smell a hot parking brake shoe on that side. Crawled underneath the the cable was not releasing. Had it at the dealer for the rattle, knocking sound and they replaced the shock, said the parking brake was adjusted properly. Noise still there and dealer said they will contact Stellantis for help. That was two weeks ago and have not heard back. Parking brake hung up again today and I did not use the parking brake so it hangs up all by itself. Its evident the dealer never took the rotor/ hub off. I’ll do it myself this week. I’ve got little use for dealers at this point. If a computer can’t tell them what’s wrong, they are lost. Apparently their techs have very little mechanical experience.

I know this is an old post.. I listened to the video of the OP.. definitely the brake pad springs. I had that exact noise last summer.. drove me nuts trying to figure it out. Found out it was the retainer springs.. I lubed them.. shut them up for the summer.. now summer is back and so is the noise. Thinking I should just replace them.. lube the new ones up good and hope it stays quiet.
