I have a 2018 Rubicon with stock 33’s. Have not done any mods(yet). I am in the process of purchasing a Hiker Trailer. My estimated final towing weight of trailer and accessories is about 2500-2700 lbs. I know that the Rubicon is rated at 3500lb max towing. My question is should I re-gear 4.55? I’m sure that flat trailering won’t be an issue just wondering about uphill travel in the mt’s or out west.
Thanks for any input in advanced

Youd be okay stock. But i have 35s and i regeared to 4.56. Huge improvement for everything cruising and towing. Cant say its “needed” but it definetly got mine driving like i wanted. Keep in mind i had 3.45 gears, With the 4.10 you shouldnt need to regear. 4.56 wont give you much of a benefit.

Hey @Moto_21 with the 4.56 gears and 35s what are your Rpm’s at 70? I’m looking to regear my 3.45’s and not sure if I should go all the way to 4.10’s thanks

Im at the same rpm/speed as a stock rubicon now. Rpm at 70 is 2100 with 35s. If youre gonna put 35s on 4.56 gets you back to stock. With a little more oomph.
