Thanks for posting this - still no word from Stellantis Customer Care . I think the vehicle assignment leg details and VON # are something the dealer should be able to explore.

Lol I’m sorry to tell you but once the Jeep gets on the train there is no tracking until it hits your local rail yard. The rail companies lose or misplace rail cars constantly. They stage them on spurs in the middle of nowhere or rail yards for another train to eventually get the cars to move further down the line in the direction that car needs to go. My bosses regularly call me when I deliver my loads to customers and tell me to get my tanker cleaned and head to a chemical plant for a base product. The manufacturer I deliver for runs out of base chemicals all the time because their large rail tank load is “in transit” and no one knows where it is. So I have to bring a small load in to get the manufacture by and making their products while waiting on the huge tank car.

So if they misplace a tank car of hazardous chemicals they sure ain’t worried about a rail car of vehicles.

I hate being the bearer of bad news. Just passing along the reality of rail delivery.

I hate that you have to wait. It’s sucks. But I thought you’d rather hear about how rail companies work than the placating you’ll get from Jeep (or any other company trying to keep a customer from being upset). Trust me I hate it. It can screw up my week and cost me money. When I get sent to pick up I usually lose my next delivery. And it rarely equals out on pay.

I just spoke with Stellantis - they have expedited the shipping as of 3/22/2022 when I first called.

I was told 2022 Wrangler Unlimited Sport S has been shipped and that is due at the dealership anytime between April 1st and April 15th.

They use a program called VIN Track (Rubicon VLS VIN Track)

Hope you are correct however the general experience with them expediting anything is that it’s talk with no action. The lots in Toledo are packed with Wranglers waiting to be shipped.

My sales guy was off today but spoke with him at home - he will fill me in on location tomorrow afternoon.

My 2022 is still on order, but we ordered my bride's 2021 Wrangler in October of 2020, picked up December 2020. For that one, my dealer was able to tell me at one point that "it was just outside of Oklahoma City at 1:25 this morning". So they have access to the rail tracking system that shows them locations and times of that specific order.

Usually rail tracking is loaded, first stop and third stop and unloaded at destination. I have no doubt Rail has their tracking system though but never heard of anyone having access.

Right on, I did find Tote Ocean shipping tracking when I was waiting on my jeep, could even track it from dock in Tacoma to Anchorage! With marine tracking system.

I actually got curious enough the other day to start researching rail transit for vehicles. The closest I got was Norfolk Southern's automotive distributions division website, a PDF download of facilities, how many vehicles each holds, and a rail map. About the only thing that did was confirm that I'm glad I'm not too far from the major NC rail hub stop, and that I'm at least on a major rail line. I also know for sure I'd be frustrated if my jeep were to head to Brunswick GA.

How ironic! This afternoon I was using Google Maps satellite imagery to see Norfolk Southern in Toledo, looking at the Jeep manufacturing plant, and trying to find a good, clear image of where all the Wrangler's were located pending shipment, that were released by the plant and invoiced/released by the plant to transport.

I discovered I really don't know where Jeep is storing vehicles for railcar shipment!

Holy Toledo, lol.
