get in Jeep after work, head home don’t touch the radio till my 11yr Old gets in and I realize Howard Stern is on, I go to change it and nothing happens. Can’t control volume can’t change stations. Then no volume but screen won’t go off when I shut off and get out and shut doors. Get back in phone doesn’t work thru Uconnect, rear back up camera doesn’t work. I called dealer mechanics are gone and not back till Tuesday . My fear was that the screen stays on , and getting hot. Pulled the fuse and put back in and everything is working. Don’t know how long it will last but we’ll see. By the way just picked up last monday

I had a similar issue with my wrangler. Radio got stuck while I was driving. I pulled over my Jeep at a gas station and re-inserted the fuse. Everything seems to be working until now.

My radio is possessed! It turns itself on at random times. I now turn down the volume before turning it off. If I don't, the sudden music, that comes on by itself, is distracting.

Known problem. Have you ever had a blue screen when backing up? It like the old windows blue screen of death. Search for it here.

Open a case with @JeepCares. I’ve had the exact same issues. Been round and round with them and the dealer. It has to be a software issue related to the last update last summer, but they won’t do anything. Need more people to complain. My service manager said the next time it happens, take directly to the closest dealer and ask them to connect to computer to record diagnostics. Apparently, there’s no other way to event attempt to find out what’s going on.

I have found when the audio goes out if you select AM it will fix it, then you can go back to whatever audio you were using.

I went Jeep Care and dealer route and with no resolution.
Switching to AM will typically fix the "volume wont adjust"
But I also get "everything at half volume" and "back up camera does not work" and nothing fixes that except letting the vehicle sit for a few hours off.
Assuming fuse would do it do, but have not been a situation where I had time to look it up and pull it walking away pissed off seemed the better option

Hi FranksRubicon and TIDALWAVE,
We understand how concerning this may be. Please let us know via private message if you decide to have your dealer look into this and we'll gladly have this documented and provide you with additional assistance throughout that process.

I’ve had this issue twice now. First in the original radio, and my dealer said it was a known issue and replaced my radio. (Btw turns out I got a refurbished 8.4”, which totally pissed me off)

Fast forward a couple months, radio is doing the same thing again. Completely freezes and nothing works (volume, channel, mode, power button, etc) the only thing that works is the climate control but the display doesnt show the changes. I’ve even powered down the vehicle and opened the door, radio keeps on going and whatnot. This has happened with my phone plugged in, and without it plugged in

Onto my second dealer now who will, again, replace the radio and most likely will be a refurbished one again.

Yes I got it a few times. I had a insurance monitor on the car. Dealership would not touch it because it was a " foreign object". Took it out and haven't had a problem since. There was something on the boards at the time about an update for the radio.

same issues with mine, just passed 1k miles, paid way to much for the vehicle to have these crap radios, worst part is all over the dealership there are signs " one year free sirius/XM" a pamphlet in the glove with the owners manual saying the same thing, I buy thinking I'm getting a sat compatible radio only to find out its not, feels like bait and switch.
JeepCares says they are escalating the case, going to the dealer on Monday, they have already pulled the "you didnt buy it here" BS.
Someone is going to make this right or buy the jeep back!

My fourth radio replacement just died today....why can't Jeep fix this issue?

I am thinking it's time to invoke the Florida Lemon Law on this issue
