Anyone else experience this?
Cosmetic?
Or sign of something more serious.
I’ll pull the grill off soon to get a better look and take a better pic.
I don’t pressure wash.

Typically nothing to worry about. The paints just flaking off likely due to poor prep etc. Aluminum can be hard to adhere too and any little paint cracks, sand or rock damage lets moisture under the paint and aluminum will get some surface oxidation and separate the paint. Especially if you’re in a winter road salt exposure area.
Just give it a light sand on the main end tubes and spray it with some flat black. Just don’t sand the cooling fins or get much paint on them as it will bend fins and plug up air flow.
Mask off the fins.
I’ve done this several times over the years.

I agree with this.

I was just looking at that photo thinking, that looks like oxidization!
