Hello fellow Eco-Diesel owners
I just received the pedal monster only. I'm only interested in pedal response and really looking forward to installing
Before installing, it appears that Banks is suggesting 2 types of installs
1- disconnecting both batteries before install. It's my understanding the aux batt is a pain to get to. I've seen multiple videos. Removing front fender doesn't sound fun just to remove a cable from 2nd battery

2- they are also suggesting putting the Jeep in "sleep mode"
Park for 30 min. Leave key fob away from Jeep and install without waking up the computer i guess?

Both methods are suggested for not throwing a code, according to Banks tech support

These 2 methods are suggested prior to install, yet I can't find anyone mentioning this prior to installing

Any additional thoughts or advice?

Thx

I just did mine earlier today on my ā€˜22. I followed the instructions and unlocked the driver’s door and left it open, then put the keys in the house and proceeded to use that time to install my dead pedal, visor clips, cargo net, etc. after about 20 minutes I finished up the Pedal Monster install and had zero issues.

I will say I plan on getting the harness extension when it’s back in stock. Those connectors are a royal pain in the ass. Also, I’m not a fan of having to boot up the app every time I get in the Jeep to use the pedal monster. I’ll probably spring for the Idash.

You have to boot up app to change settings correct? It should remember your last settings?

Mine remembers, I have not turned on the app but once or twice in months and that was because I disconnected in early Nov for a day.

One thing to note, if you get vehicle reports they stop when plugged in.

I did not disconnect, last time I reconnected I had the key with me also. But I did let the Jeep go to sleep on original install and no lights.

Weird my health reports never show up with ODB plugged in.

It was like 8 months ago before I disconnected last month.

Update. Thanks All
I figured out method #2
Turn off vehicle, open door 10 minutes before install
Installed and tested. I had something called Diesel Warming light pop up, then has disappeared since. Never seen that before. Hoping it's the only indicator issue
Only tested around the block so far.

Settings.
I have it set on 8/City. Tried sport, not much different
Will play with it tomorrow
I am still noticing some Turbo lag, but it's late and only driven it couple times around block
You will never get rid of the turbo lag, this only changes throttle input. I stay on city 6.

Much appreciated feedback. Interesting on the turbo lag, I assumed it would eliminate
I've had time today to do a little more driving
Definitely a noticeable difference. Have not changed any settings yet, still City 8
Thx ?

Jino, the Pedal Monster is the simpliest install, the IDash not much harder, and the Derringer is somewhat easy - except for the dexterity required to unplug/replug the FRP and MAS. Watch these two videos several times before starting. I'm more of a wannabe mechanic and I was able to do it. The 2nd one is particularly helpful. You'll be thrilled with the fruits of your labors - 500+ lbft of torque! I run my Pedal Monster at "Sport 3".
