I purchased a PSC steering kit and disabled the electronic steering pump do I need to worry about the fire recall?

This is what PSC said when I asked them about it.

Question: Will this kit eliminate the recall currently on my Jeep regarding the plug to the electric steering pump? I really don't want to worry about my Jeep burning down. My last one overheated and caught fire, which wasn't fun.

Converting to a belt-driven pump will isolate and disable the wiring harness and electrical connector parts associated with the current recall.

I don't know but I assume they use the same wiring but you may want to email them and find out. They have been very responsive through email for me.

The YouTube channel Epic Adventure Outfitters just had a video about this and I can’t really say I know much about their products but I did watch the video and they said that the kit, which I’m assuming was the electrical one, uses the same factory connector that has the high resistance/overheating problem. That’s what they said anyway.
