Problem receiving text

I am unable to receive text when my iPhone is NOT connected to CarPlay. I can send text but not receive. The "SHOW NOTIFICATIONS" is in the one position.
Any thoughts?

Since I updated to iOS 12, my Rubicon with 8.4 screen will not receive text either. It worked fine before the update on the iPhone. It was suggested to me to repair my phone but I have not done it yet. Don’t know if it works or not but it’s worth a try! The jeep will let me text through Siri though.

Ok well after speaking with a gal from UConnect who was nice but no clue. I starred to dig into the problem.
If you have an iPhone go to settings, bluetooth and click the i in the blue circle. Make sure the "show notifications" are on and green.
That should do it
