I'm still learning how to use all the aspects of Uconnect on my Wrangler. I have the 7" Uconnect 4. It seems there is a difference between "Voice Texting" and "Voice To Text." With Voice Texting you should be able to speak your custom text message and have it sent. Voice To Text sounds like the system allows you to choose from the 15 predetermined text messages and send one of those. What's not clear is which system (8.4" vs. 7") allows Voice Texting, is it part of the Uconnect Access subscription, or is it based on the compatibility of your phone? I had an older phone that the Mopar compatibility checker said was not compatible with Voice Texting. My new phone (Samsung S9) supposedly is. Another layer of confusion is the Uconnect phone connection vs. Android Auto connection. I read somewhere that it's easier to use the Google voice texting through Android Auto than try to do Voice Texting through Uconnect. I'm trying to get to point where if I receive a text and have it read to me, I can reply with a custom text. Maybe it's a setting on my phone, but can anyone provide any clarity on this?

I don’t have an android phone but I do use the apple interface a lot. It is a bit more robust than the Uconnect. When the phone is connected through usb you should be able to do voice to text and reply to messages.
